Each project is an opportunity for us to create lasting impact, both for people and the planet. We have established a clear and structured selection process designed to identify initiatives that are most aligned with our mission and values.
SELECTION PROCESS
Our selection process generally follows the below approach however adjustments may be made depending on the nature and specific objectives of each project call:
SEEDING
Project leaders are invited to apply through the project-specific form.
ROOTING
Aligned projects move to a first online interview to share more about their initiative.
GROWING
Our team conducts in-depth field visits to assess pre-selected initiatives.
BLOOMING
Project leaders pitch their initiatives to an expert panel, which selects the projects.
HARVESTING
Selected projects receive funding and meet to exchange ideas and explore how the Food As Medicine Foundation can best support them.
OUR SELECTION CRITERIA
We evaluate each initiative based on its alignment with the foundation’s mission, values, and strategy.
Commitment: Of the project leader and her/his team.
Innovation and creativity: Uniqueness of the idea, approach, and/or reach of the solution
Collaboration: The extent to which the project leverages (existing) networks.
