Our team carefully reviews each proposal during dedicated sessions. In each session, we select concrete initiatives that are impactful and aligned with our values.
The Food As Medicine Foundation organizes two project calls each year.
The first, at the beginning of the year, targets organizations developing sustainable solutions for a healthy and regenerative food system for children and their families. The second, at the end of the year, is dedicated to changemakers – education professionals, who initiate innovative projects within their schools.
Focus of the project call:
We support projects in schools that allow children to learn what healthy food is and how nature nourishes us, through a practical, playful, and educationally sound approach.
Who can apply?
This call is open to anyone working in a school: teachers, school principals, school nurses, kitchen staff and parents’ councils who want to inspire children to build a connection with healthy food and the nature it comes from.
Target group:
Preschool and primary education in Belgium
Available budget:
Projects that meet the basic criteria may receive a grant of up to €1,000 to bring their idea to life (max. 3 projects per school). This support can be used between November 2026 and June 2027. Note: Due to the limited number of slots, applications will be reviewed and awarded on a first come, first served basis, so act quickly!
Timing:
Applications open: September 1st, 2026
Deadline: October 9th, 2026
Results: by October 30th, 2026 at the latest
What kind of projects are eligible?
Think of a school garden, a visit to a farm or beekeeper, a cooking workshop with forgotten vegetables, a fruit and vegetable stand, healthy lunch moments… as long as it gets children actively involved in discovering, growing, and tasting.
